Introductory Page

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in Salzburg, Austria, January 27, 1756 and died in Vienna on December 5, 1791. Considered one of the greatest musical geniuses of all time, Mozart authored over six hundred works before his premature death at the age of thirty-five. In his short life , Mozart composed many masterpieces including symphonies, concertos, operas, chamber music, various orchestral pieces, church music, and songs. Most of his works are still popular and famous today. Mozart 's ultimate passing was the world's loss. Ironically, despite his brilliance as a composer and fame, he was buried in a pauper's grave.
